Our unwavering dedication to environmentally sound and sustainable operations is deeply ingrained in its corporate ethos, as exemplified by its robust sustainability initiatives.
We actively foster a circular economy by facilitating the export of a substantial portion of purchased copiers for reuse across diverse markets. Through meticulous harvesting, salvageable parts and components are carefully extracted for future reuse. For copiers that have reached the end of their lifecycle, we ensure their proper recycling through certified ISO 14001 recyclers located near its logistic centers.
In an effort to minimize its environmental impact, we have implemented a comprehensive and eco-conscious logistic framework. This entails sourcing copiers from various regions across UAE and transporting them to our strategically positioned Logistic Centers. By prioritizing environmentally friendly transportation methods such as trailer-on-train or river-barge whenever possible, we effectively reduce its carbon footprint and supports sustainable supply chain practices.
In order to solidify our dedication to the environment, we underwent the ISO 14001 certification process in 2006, facilitated by Qvalify AB. This certification serves as a framework for effectively managing and continuously improving our environmental performance. Following are the benefits it provides:
We diligently adhere to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive established by the UAE Union at all its locations.
WEEE represents a complex amalgamation of materials and components, which, if not properly handled, can lead to significant environmental and health issues due to their hazardous nature. To enhance the management of WEEE and contribute to a circular economy while promoting resource efficiency, it is crucial to improve the collection, treatment, and recycling of electronics at their end-of-life stage.
In an effort to minimize our carbon footprint and conserve valuable resources, AL Faraeenah elect device has implemented a strategy focused on reusing photo copiers and their components. This approach not only reduces the carbon emissions associated with manufacturing new units but also promotes material recovery instead of contributing to landfill waste.
To accurately assess the environmental impact, we conducted an extensive analysis of the material composition in mono and color photo copiers of various sizes and brands.
We actively export a significant portion of the copiers purchased for reuse in markets across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. The remaining copiers, which are considered obsolete or beyond repair, undergo recycling processes instead. On average, the copiers we acquire for reuse are approximately five years old and still have a minimum of five more years of operational life. Extending the lifespan of these copiers results in a CO2 footprint reduction equivalent to manufacturing a brand-new unit. Once they reach the end of their life cycle, the copiers are fully recycled at a designated facility.
It’s worth noting that the results of our efforts have been verified by Qvalify AB, providing a reliable confirmation of the positive environmental impact achieved through our photo copier reuse and recycling practices.
Our transportation requirements resulted in the following production of Carbon Footprint in 2016:
We are firmly committed to operating in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner, as outlined in our Environmental Policy.
Fortunately, our CO2 balance works in its favor, with an impressive annual reduction of over 17,000 tons of CO2! In simpler terms, for every ton of CO2 we generate, the company manages to decrease its Carbon Footprint by 17 times!
